Adjust the Automatic Allocation Settings for Sales Orders

Note: Before making changes to the automatic allocation settings, please consult with eGrow Support to ensure all impacts of a proposed change are understood.

Many choose to use the automatic allocation tool in eGrow Connect to allocate plants on sales orders. This tool allows you to choose preferences for allocation (ie. oldest crop first, smallest crop first, etc.) and eGrow Connect will follow your preferences when automatically allocating crops to new orders. Of course, you can always manually adjust allocation for items whenever needed.

To adjust your settings and preferences for automatic allocation on Sales Orders follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to system setup logo System Setup > Sales > Order Allocation and select the Sales Order Allocation tab.
  2. Select your preferences from the Overcommit options.
  3. Enable Auto Allocation must be toggled on for any auto allocation to happen.
  4. Review and update any Exclusions/Inclusions for auto allocation.
  5. Review and update the “Allocation Order” section by dragging your top allocation definitions to the top.
  6. Click on Save Settings.

Detail Description

  • Allow to Overcommit: When turned on, this allows you to overcommit inventory applied to the Location and Ready date that you determine here. Most customers use the "Overcommit" location and "OC" ready date.
  • Enable Manual Overcommit (within any crop): Allows for the manual overcommitting of a specific crop.
  • Enable Auto Allocation: Toggle to green if you want automatic allocation to apply to your newly created orders. Note: Making changes to allocation settings does *not* affect existing orders unless you add new items to the order or reallocate items on the order.
  • Section I. Exclusions/Inclusions: By default, everything is included in automatic allocation. Use this section to exclude/include specific farms, location types, locations, categories, or item types when doing automatic allocation. Growers may use this option to exclude portions of their inventory that are reserved for production purposes.
    • On Availability: Toggle this option if you only want crops flagged as “On Availability” included in the automatic allocation.
    • Exclude qty cmtd to overcommit: Toggle this option if you don’t want any quantities committed to “overcommit” included when calculating the overall available quantities.
    • Ship Date Range: Toggle this option to limit automatic allocation to include only items with ready dates within a specified range of the ship date on the order. After you toggle this option on, you can enter the desired range.
  • Section II. Allocation Order: In this section you can select automatic allocation logic used and priorities by toggling each option on or off and dragging options to the top that are most important and should be applied first, followed in succession by each additional enabled logic.
